This September, celebrate Global Goals Month with Mindful Mending at the Student Learning Hub! Every Thursday from 12pm to 1pm, join us for a drop-in session led by Vita Cochran, our Creative in Residence for 2024. This unique workshop invites students to repair their clothes through the traditional art of darning while engaging in mindful crafting and meaningful conversations.
Vita, an artist from Aotearoa now residing on Gadigal land, brings her expertise in hand embroidery to create a space where sustainability meets creativity. As part of our Global Goals Month initiative, this activity emphasises the importance of sustainable practices and personal wellbeing.
This series is FREE and all darning supplies are provided. Please feel free to bring an item of clothing to mend if you wish.
Important Note for September 12th!
Heads up, menders! On Thursday, September 12th, our creative superstar Vita Cochran will be off at her gallery, weaving magic into an art show installation. But fear not! Our expert library staff will be stepping in to run the Mindful Mending session.
