Undergraduate and postgraduate coursework consultations

Please note that undergraduate and postgraduate consultations have now closed until Autumn session 2025. If you would like to get in contact with a librarian, please use the contact us form.

Undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students can book a consultation with a librarian for personalised assistance with finding, evaluating and referencing information. Consultations can be online or in-person on level 7 of the Library.

Topics covered in these consultations include:

  • referencing using APA
  • referencing using AGLC
  • referencing software (such as RefWorks)
  • using the library catalogue and databases
  • developing your searching skills
  • evaluating Information.

Researcher and staff consultations

Graduate research students, honours students and academic & professional staff can request a consultation with a librarian for personalised assistance with teaching or research needs. 

Consultations may cover:

  • Making the best use of Library services and resources
  • Referencing and referencing software
  • Copyright
  • Research
    • Literature searching 
    • Systematic reviews
    • Publishing strategy
    • Research data management
    • Metrics for grant or promotion applications
  • Teaching
    • Embedding library training materials in Canvas 
    • Identifying learning materials for your course 
    • Library training for students

All students and staff can request assistance from Library staff via chat and phone.
