Storing your research data: where and how?

Ensuring your research data is stored appropriately and securely is a key responsibility for anyone undertaking research.  This session will cover the essentials of storing data at UTS.  

In this workshop we will explore:

  • Classifying research data based on their level of sensitivity.
  • Identifying appropriate data storage options based on their classification. 
  • Backing up research data using the 3-2-1 method.

Creating your Research Data Management Plan

All research projects at UTS are required to have a Research Data Management Plan (RDMP).  This online document records all of your data management decisions and helps ensure that your data is well-managed throughout the project lifecycle and can be reused efficiently.   

In this workshop, we will explore: 

  • Your responsibilities around managing research data.
  • What to include in an RDMP.
  • How to use Stash to create an RDMP.
