Discover the wide range of traditional weaving techniques in this free hands-on workshop! Following along with educators, you will be guided on how to weave a bracelet or short rope. While learning, you will also be treated with stories about Aboriginal culture, history and sustainability.
These workshops will be run by educators from Koori Kinnections—a 100% Aboriginal owned and operated Cultural Education business. Involving elements of play, learning, sharing and connection, these workshops are a safe space to learn about Aboriginal cultures, practices and ways of seeing the world, and provides opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have in a judgement-free space—whether it be about the upcoming Voice referendum or a cultural question in general.
All materials will be supplied—just bring yourself and a mind ready for learning! Please note that this event is an open space to engage and learn about Aboriginal cultures and is not an advisory information event reflective of a collective opinion. Any conversations about the Voice referendum, while encouraged, may involve a difference of opinion and any disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated.
