In this 1hr event you will hear about the experiences of staff using Open Educational Resources (OER) for their learning and teaching from 3 different UTS faculties: FEIT, FASS, and Health.
Each faculty will present their experience, and discuss stages in the lifecycle of OER, such as:
- curating
- evaluating
- adapting
- and maintaining.
Through this discussion, we will address some major concerns about finding 3rd party content. We will look at challenges of evaluating the quality of OER. The panel will also provide those who have never used OER with a clear idea of what is required to utilise them in their teaching.
Lastly, our panelists are asked to consider how OER can be connected to the theme of this year's Open Access week: Open for Climate Justice.
