The Reading Lists service is UTS Library’s reading list management system, allowing you to:

  • Create, manage and access your reading lists all in the one place, in Canvas, to suit your subject delivery.
  • Request digitisations, order new course materials and place key texts in the Reserve collection.
  • Identify key resources as required or recommended readings for your students.

Finding and clipping videos

Learn how to easily create custom video playlists with the Library’s video databases and other streaming services.

You will learn how to:

  • Find videos using databases like EduTV, TV News, LinkedIn Learning and YouTube.
  • Clip videos and create custom playlists.
  • Embed videos and playlists in Canvas.
  • Keep your videos copyright compliant.

Who should attend this session

Teaching staff who are using video content on their Canvas subject sites. Professional staff are welcome to attend.

Copyright made easy

Let us demystify copyright to help you easily (and legally!) reuse videos, images and other online resources for teaching purposes.

This workshop will cover the basics such as:

  • What you can and can’t do when using copyright-protected content
  • How to follow best practices when reusing copyright-protected content
  • Tools and tips in Canvas
  • How the Library can help you with copyright questions

Unlock Open Educational Resources for your class

Open educational resources (OER) offer many benefits for teaching and learning in higher education. These include helping academics to improve the quality of existing subjects, reducing costs of teaching materials, and widening access to education. However, challenges still occupy the OER domain where academics flagged that they usually struggle with finding the correct content or that the existing resources are not adaptable due to licensing restrictions (e.g. CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) or don’t fit their instructional strategies.

Green roof tour

Led by a UTS Sustainability expert, explore the green roofs on our city campus.

Green roofs have multiple benefits including helping the thermal performance of buildings, reducing energy consumption and providing habitat for plants and animals. They also have social sustainability benefits, adding beauty and recreational spaces to the urban landscape.
